Learning 2.0 Program!!
Welcome to LCPL's Learning 2.0 program & blog. Chances are if you've found your way here you're either:
a. a member of LCPL's staff who's participating in the Learning 2.0 program.
b. interested in learning about and playing around (yes, playing is allowed in libraries) with some new web 2.0 tools that will help you expand your information literacy toolbox.- or -
c. are just interested in earning a cool RCA Flash Memory MP3 Player.
Either way… We are so happy that you have found your way here!! Learning 2.0 is an online learning program that encourages staff to learn more about emerging technologies on the web that are changing the way people, society and libraries access information and communicate with each other. Over the course of the next nine weeks, this website will highlight “23 Things” and discovery exercises to help staff become familiar with blogging, RSS news feeds, tagging, wikis, podcasting, online applications, and video and image hosting sites.
The FAQs should answer most of your questions about this program. If not, then please add your question to the FAQ page as a comment.
So fasten your seat belts, grab your mouse and get ready for a discovery adventure… and remember it's OK to play in the library and have fun! Be sure to tune in Monday, December 18th for the next "thing" or discovery item ... or better yet, subscribe to the RSS feed.

Stephanie's voice is much prettier than Doug's. :)
yes, I do agree!
hmm - I cannot get the player for Stephanie to work, although Doug's message plays just fine.
I can't listen to Stephanie either - glad it's not just me! But I'm hoping the rest of this excercise is good!
I got Stephanie's sound when I turned up the volume on the speaker. The volume levels were different for the two podcasts I think. Am wondering how to update the database on the Shared drive. The database has a "Staff" table, but it seems to need 23 columns after the Name column, so we can put a Yes or X in the cell. Also, I guess we update our branch designations in the second column? Do we need instructions on this? Do we just send Steph an email when we finish each thing?
Ok I have replaced the podcast with a new one just like Doug's. As for the tracking log, it is not up and running just yet. You will begin tracking your progess after you complete Thing #4. Please let me know if you have any problems listening to the podcast. Thanks and enjoy. Stephanie
I sound great!
I just got my blog created! Yeah! I look forward to the rest!
Blogger is in beta right now, so you can expect some of these issues to crop up. After all, it's not myspace.com
